entitled "Disco Camp field guide" that consisted of pairs of photographs taken while on the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia in June 2007. The photos were picked in chronological order and grouped into pairs as I reviewed the total photos taken on that one-week bike ride through Georgia. I wanted to expand on that book by making pairs of photos from other years on the same bike ride. A gradient was added to the center of the pair to mimic the appearance of a book spread—like they do with page spreads on some online PDF viewers, especially Issuu.com. This work was assembled for consideration in the exhibition Southern, curated by Judith McWillie, at Athens Institute for Contemporary Art (January 21 – March 4, 2012). Three of the sets from 2010 were chosen for that exhibit. The prints for the Southern show were 60 x 22.5 inches, ink jet on matte paper. Titles haven't been created for all of these pieces yet, but the following list gives the dates and cities visited from the five years of the Bicycle Ride Across Georgia that constitute this collection. director of Arrow Gallery (for which Size Life was created). "House: Ten Artists Photograph Domestic Architecture," was the third invitational exhibition at Athens Institute for Contemporary Art (ATHICA), June 22 – August 10, 2002. The other artists were Rinne Allen, Todd Eberle, Jeff Luckey, Carl Martin, Evie McKenna, Stephen Scheer, Mark Steinmetz, Michael Stipe and Thomas Tulis. In response to Carol's request that I submit work on the topic of "house," I chose to investigate my living space—which is a top floor apartment in a 1895 house in Athens, Georgia; at the time I had lived there for 16 years. My title for this work, "This houes is n…," comes from a hand-painted sign that a friend found and gave to me. It seems to me that this was a message sign someone was making but then abandoned, possibly because the sign misspelled the word "house." The installation consisted of 29 primary images, printed 12 x 9 inches, arranged in a 6 wide by 5 tall grid, including one 6 x 4 inch photo of the exterior of the house, and above the grid of photos was the found sign hanging by a loop of cord, and sharing the same nail as the cord was a relief of a "smiley face" that was fashioned out of bee's wax, given to me by the artist Matthew Lusk, and displayed in the same way that the sign and smiley face had been hanging in my bathroom. The photos from this show were later offered for sale in editions of five; since a number of those original prints were purchased, not all of them are easily available to me to include here. A selection of these photographs were included in a 2005 exhibit at the Lyndon House Arts Center in Athens, Georgia, curated by the late Donald Keyes, consisting of work by Sunny Taylor and myself. invitation of the urban design firm Keane & Co. in Charleston, South Carolina. The exhibit consisted of three parts: this series of drawings; a a series of photographic interpretations of key figures from Charleston's history, and a pair of photo composites measuring 50 feet by 4 inches that reproduced the west and east facades of a 1.3 mile stretch of King Street from Broad Street to King Street. Additional graphic design and branding components were developed for the exhibition, including a logo, large sign, stickers and t-shirts. The paper is Stonehenge fine art paper in white. Most of the drawings measure 40 x 26 3/8 inches. The last six drawings in this list are on half-sized sheets of the Stonehenge paper and measure 26 1/4 x 20 inches. 2007 with Rachel Barnes as an outgrowth of our work together on the Natural Purity modeling agency. We wanted to shift from finding models to using models while exploring indigenous local creative talent in Athens. The magazine was put on hold after three issues but I revived it in the summer of 2009 and it has been published on the first day of each season ever since, expanding to include Atlanta in Winter 2010 (with the help of Allie Bashuk). While my goal for the magazine is to provide an outlet for the work of other local creatives, I've found that a number of my ideas for the issues are best realized if I handle them—either in terms of time, or just to achieve a particular vision. These images are a sampling of my own work that was made specifically to appear in Young, Foxy & Free. The idea was to welcome anyone in the community to be in the magazine just by sitting for a portrait and signing a model release. A special Foto Pixx backdrop was used for all the photos along with tungsten hot lights. The photos were taken at various events: YFF magazine launch parties, concerts, and art openings.
